This mega tournament is organized by the School Games Federation of India and the Department of School Education, Government of West Bengal. A total of 10 state teams from different parts of the country participated in this competition.
Ramnagar MLA Akhil Giri officially inaugurated the competition by lighting the lamp on the afternoon of January 27. DSP was present at the event. Mohit Mollah, Deputy Director of Physical Education and Sports Tamal Das Mohapatra and other dignitaries. The enthusiasm of the students at the opening ceremony was palpable.
The main attraction in this year’s competition is the U-14 and U-19 girls’ categories. A total of 8 teams have been divided into two groups in the U-14 category. Group ‘A’ consists of Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Goa and Jharkhand. Group ‘B’ consists of West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Delhi and Punjab. A total of 10 teams participated in the U-19 category.
The Bengal girls are in great form in the matches starting from 10 am on January 28. According to the latest news, the Bengal team is in an advantageous position after winning both the league level matches. The crowd of tourists to watch this battle of tension on the sand of the beach was eye-catching.
