If you feel chest pain, shortness of breath or excessive fatigue, you should immediately contact a doctor. Heart patients should try their best to avoid cold.
The doctor said that when the cold increases, patients suffering from asthma and respiratory diseases start facing problems. In fact, due to cold air, such patients start having difficulty in breathing, cough and wheezing. Such patients should go out wearing a mask, avoid cold things and take inhalers or medicines given by the doctor regularly. It is important to take extra precautions when the cold increases at night.
Experts said that physical activity reduces in cold weather, due to which the blood sugar level can deteriorate. Due to cold, the problem of numbness in hands and feet and delayed healing of wounds also increases. Diabetic patients should check their blood sugar regularly, take a balanced diet and include light exercise in their daily routine. Apart from this, as the cold increases, joint pain and arthritis patients start facing problems. Increasing stiffness and pain in joints due to cold is a common problem. Such people are advised to wear warm clothes and do light stretching.
Dr. Rawat told that in cold, there is a change in blood flow to maintain body temperature, due to which BP can suddenly increase. High BP patients should avoid going out in extreme cold and should reduce salt intake. Apart from this, to control BP, it is important to avoid stress and check your blood pressure regularly. Vigilance is the most effective way to prevent these diseases during the winter season.
