Only kalai dal powder is prepared. And that’s why the nectar of Kalai Dal has won the hearts of foodies. Still, this elixir expires instantly when it is made in the store.

You can see this nectar made from gram flour in different places, but this pure nectar is prepared by breaking the kalai dal, twisting it, frying it in oil and dipping it in hot juice. This dessert is now available at Kalibari Road in Kandi town of Murshidabad district. Every afternoon is crowded with buyers. But Pradeep Kumar Dutt’s Kalai Dal nectar once spread beyond the district. With the change of time, this tradition has fallen. Due to the use of dyes and chemicals, the taste of the original kalai dal nectar is being lost.

However, for more than 25 years, the dessert artist Pradeep Kumar Dutta of Kalibari Road in Kandy has kept the traditional recipe of this sweet. The nectar of this kalai dal has a special effect on the heart of the food lovers in the city of Kandi and Murshidabad district. It is made for only 5 rupees. Confectionery sellers said that more than 600 amrtis are made daily.
