Bangla News: People of Howrah eat Kerala’s famous halwa, which can be kept at home for two months, including kiwi figs.

Howrah: The people of Howrah are enjoying Kerala’s fruit flavor ‘Halua’. Halwa or semolina is a favorite dish of almost everyone. Generally, semolina or halwa, originated from wheat, is better known to the people of Bengal, which is eaten with sweet bread or luchi. To make halwa with semolina from wheat, ghee-milk and almonds are used.

Apart from our country India, Halwa is also known to the people of neighboring countries including Bangladesh and Pakistan. Apart from semolina halwa, fruit or other flavored halwa is very popular. Especially this fruit flavor halwa is famous in Kerala. The sweet halwa of Kerala is unmatched in taste. This halwa can be kept at home for two to two and a half months. No refrigeration or special storage is required.

Wheat flour, coconut oil, dry fruits, fruit juice, honey, jaggery, almonds are used to make Kerala flavor halwa. This halwa is as incomparable in taste as it is beneficial for the body. Various flavors of halwa are available including pineapple, fig, kiwi, carrot, mixed fruit. In addition to wheat semolina or halwa, more and more people are familiar with carrot halwa. But Halwa with different fruit flavors, is unknown to most of the people of Howrah. This is the first time most people are introduced to Halwa with various fruit flavors. Many people are interested in seeing as well as tasting.

People of all ages throng Kerala’s fruit flavored halwa shops. It is being sold at the rate of Tk 600 per kg at the international trade fair adjacent to the Howrah Dumurjala Stadium.
