Constipation is becoming a common but serious problem related to today’s lifestyle. People consider it a small thing and ignore it, but the truth is that if the stomach is not cleaned daily, many types of problems can start in the body. Problems like gas, acidity, mouth ulcers, bad breath, skin allergies and headache are often related to constipation. Constipation is not a separate disease, but a sign of slowness of our large intestine. Therefore, it is important to understand its causes and adopt natural remedies at the right time.

Our bad habits become the biggest cause of constipation. Drinking less water, lack of fiber, staying awake and eating till late at night, waking up late in the morning, forcibly stopping the poop and sitting in the toilet with a mobile phone for a long time – all these reasons spoil the natural process of the intestines. Apart from this, mental stress also slows down the work of the digestive system. When intestinal movement reduces, the stool becomes hard and there is difficulty in passing out. Gradually this problem takes the form of chronic constipation.

1. Drinking lukewarm water on an empty stomach in the morning
Drinking at least two glasses of lukewarm water on an empty stomach as soon as you wake up in the morning is considered very beneficial. It gradually activates our digestive system and increases intestinal movement. Lukewarm water activates the colon reflex, making it easier to pass stool. Many people drink water, but do not maintain the correct quantity and regularity. If water is drunk at the same time every day, the internal clock of the body gets set and it becomes a habit to clean the stomach.

2. Correct use of Isabgol i.e. Psyllium Husk
Isabgol is rich in soluble fiber, which makes the stool heavy and soft. Taking one to two spoons of Isabgol with lukewarm water or milk before sleeping at night helps in clearing the stomach in the morning. It is helpful in cleaning the intestines and also provides relief from long-term constipation. However, it should be taken in regular quantity only and excessive quantity should be avoided. It is also considered good for colon health.

3. Include fiber-rich foods
To avoid constipation, it is very important to include fiber in the daily diet. Green leafy vegetables, salad, papaya, apple, pear, pulses and whole grains strengthen the intestines. Fiber retains water in the stool, so that it does not become hard and passes out easily. If there is more junk food in the diet and less natural food, then the problem of constipation may occur again and again. Therefore, it is important to adopt a balanced and fiber rich diet.

4. Regular exercise and morning walk
Constipation also increases due to less physical activity. Walking briskly, doing yoga or light exercise for at least 20 to 30 minutes daily keeps the digestive system active. Especially morning walk improves intestinal movement. People who work sitting all day should get up and walk a little in between. This does not make the digestive system sluggish.

5. Reduce stress and adopt the right routine
Mental stress directly affects the digestive system. When there is too much anxiety or stress, the intestinal movement slows down. It is very important to sleep on time, wake up early in the morning and fix regular time for bowel movements. Avoid using mobile in toilet and do not sit for long. When the daily routine is balanced, the stomach also remains healthy for a long time.
