Dietician Mamta Pandey, resident of Satna, Madhya Pradesh, told Local 18 that nutrition plays the most important role in increasing the height of children. Children should be given a diet which is rich in protein, calcium, vitamin D and iron.

These nutrients not only make bones strong but also help in the development of tissues and muscles. Dairy products like milk, curd, cheese are excellent sources of calcium and vitamin D. Iron and magnesium are obtained from green leafy vegetables. Eggs, pulses, gram and chicken should be included in the diet of children so that they can get enough protein. Apart from this, fiber and vitamins are available from grains like brown rice, quinoa and whole wheat.

When a child is in deep sleep, human growth hormone is most active in his body. This hormone plays an important role in increasing height. Research shows that children who get regular and quality sleep grow faster, so make it a habit to put children to sleep and wake them up on time. Keep the sleeping environment calm and comfortable so that there is no hindrance in their sleep.

Exercise and outdoor games are very important for the physical development of children. Activities like swimming, cycling, yoga and basketball make the body flexible and strengthen the bones. Apart from this, regular stretching exercises keep the spine straight, which maintains correct body posture and improves height.

Mamta Pandey said that children should always develop the habit of sitting and standing straight. A bent spine or shoulders not only affects the height but also disturbs the balance of the body. In such a situation, their posture can be improved by back and shoulder exercises.

Excessive use of mobile or TV reduces the physical activity of children, which can hamper their development, hence encourage them to play outside. Also, do not put mental pressure on children. Their growth hormone is affected by stress and anxiety. Parents should talk openly with their children and make them emotionally strong.

Increasing the height of children does not happen like magic, but it is a continuous process, in which right diet, sleep, exercise and positive environment play an important role. If parents adopt these natural methods, a visible change can be seen in the growth of the child.
