Peter Navarros: Donald Trump’s advisor Peter Navarro has launched a new digital war on India. After 50% tariff, now he gave an absurd argument as to why Indians are taking advantage of ChatGPT which runs on American electricity. Navarro called it plunder of American resources. This statement is a new conspiracy to blackmail India in the name of technology, which is a direct insult to global trade rules and mutual strategic partnership.
Peter Navarro spewed venom against India. Peter Navarro, Donald Trump’s closest commander, has made an absurd statement about India that has no basis. Now Navarro is interested in becoming a ‘moneylender’ of technology and electricity. He openly spewed venom and asked that when ChatGPT uses America’s electricity and land then why are people of a country like India enjoying it for free? This is not just a statement but a dirty conspiracy to digitally blackmail an emerging global power. Navarro’s argument that America is footing the bill is not only technically stupid but also emblematic of the arrogance that wants to treat India not as a partner but as a slave market.
Big conspiracy to encircle India
The trend of hatred towards India which started with the return of Trump administration in America is now at its peak. In the name of buying Russian oil, a heavy tariff of 50% was imposed on India, but when India did not bow down to that, now new intimidation is being shown through AI services. Peter Navarro claimed on Steve Bannon’s show that countries like India are exploiting American resources. Navarro is the same person who had earlier made objectionable Brahmin remarks on the Indian leadership and had hurt the sentiments of crores of Indians by calling the Ukraine war Modi’s war.
Experts believe that behind Navarro’s statement is actually Trump’s irritation which is clearly visible in his failure to pressure India into trade agreements. It has been Navarro’s old habit of presenting the global exchange of technology as charity, but he is forgetting that if India’s software engineers and data market withdraw their services, then there will be no one left to pay the ‘electricity bill’ of America’s Silicon Valley.
