New York. A heart-wrenching incident has come to light in New York, America. Here in the Queens area, the police shot a 22-year-old Bangladeshi youth, Jabez Chakraborty. The condition of the young man is very critical and he is on ventilator. Police claim that the youth had tried to attack them with a knife. At the same time, the family alleges that in view of their son’s poor mental condition, they had called an ambulance for medical help, but the police came and shot him with bullets. The family is in deep shock after this incident and is raising serious questions on the police action.

NYPD claims: ‘He had a big knife in his hand, attacked the police’
New York Police Department (NYPD) says that this incident happened last Monday. According to the police, Jabez Chakraborty had a big kitchen knife in his hand and was chasing the police officers. Officials claim that they tried to console him by retreating, but when his life was in danger, they took out their guns and opened fire. Now a case of ‘Attempted Murder’ has been registered against Jabez Chakraborty.

family pain
Jabez Chakraborty’s family is rejecting this police theory. He says that Jabez Chakraborty is struggling with mental health issues. On the day of the incident, he was throwing glass in the house, so in panic the family called 911 so that an ambulance could come and take him to the hospital. The family said, “We had asked for an ambulance, we did not know that the police would also come along. The police shot our son as if they had come to kill him.”

Guarded in hospital, phone confiscated and treated like a criminal
The family has made serious allegations of harassment against the NYPD. He says that the police did not allow him to meet his own son. It is alleged that the police confiscated the family’s phones, interrogated them and treated them like criminals. Jabez Chakraborty is currently on ventilator and there is a tight police guard outside his room. The family has demanded that the District Attorney (DA) immediately withdraw the charges against Jabez. His question is – “Why a case of attempt to murder against the boy lying on the ventilator?”
