Goyal’s skin was donated to the Army Hospital (Research and Referral), Delhi Cantt, with the help of Dadhichi Dehdan Samiti. Whereas both his eyes were given to Guru Nanak Eye Hospital, which will save the eyesight of many people. Because one pair of eyes can provide light to about 6 people.
Whereas his body was donated to All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi, so that medical students can use his body for research and research.
This work of donation was done under the leadership of Sudhir Gupta, Vice Chairman of the Body Donation Committee. Due to his continuous efforts in Delhi, many families have started considering organ donation and body donation as an important way of serving humanity. Doctors and social workers present during the process appreciated this initiative and said that it will promote the culture of organ and tissue donation in India.
During this, experts said that donated skin is very important in the treatment of seriously burnt patients and people injured in accidents. Many people will be able to get treatment through this. Regarding this, Omkar Singh of the hospital said that cases of serious burns of soldiers and civilians often come in army hospitals. In such a situation, skin donation helps a lot in the treatment and quick recovery of patients.
The family members of Sitaram Goyal Jain said that after his death, the family decided to donate his skin so that seriously burnt patients could be helped. Then his eyes and body were also donated. With a single decision, this family helped both patients and medical science by making three important types of donations.
On this occasion, Sudhir Gupta said that organ donation and body donation is one of the biggest services to humanity. Even after death, a human being can give life, hope and healing to others through his body.
Doctors say there is still a shortage of donated organs and tissues in India, especially skin for burn patients. Such initiatives inspire people and increase awareness in the society.
