Bharatpur, Rajasthan. In this era of modernity and technology, where comforts and amenities have increased, a major crisis has also arisen on human health in the form of ‘Diabetes’. A recent analysis conducted by the health department and experts in Bharatpur district has revealed the shocking fact that the cases of diabetes here have increased by about 20 percent. The matter of concern is that this disease has now crossed the age limits and is making the elderly as well as the youth and small children its victims. Lack of time, stressful work, unbalanced diet and increasing distance from physical exercise have made this ‘silent killer’ a part of every household. If public awareness and lifestyle changes are not made in time, then this district may face big difficulties on the health front in the future.

Health experts believe that spending hours on mobile phones and screens and the increasing trend of fast food are the main reasons for the spread of this disease. Dr. Jyoti, an Ayurveda doctor from Bharatpur, told in a special conversation with ‘Local 18’ that India has currently reached the second place in the number of diabetes cases globally. According to Dr. Jyoti, people’s habit of sleeping during the day, staying awake till late at night and lack of physical exertion are the root causes of this disease. He warned that diabetes is not just a disease, but it also gradually hollows out other vital organs of the body like eyes, kidneys and heart. Therefore, its timely identification and control is the only protection.

Ayurveda: The Natural Path to Prevention and Control
Dr. Jyoti told that in Ayurveda, diabetes has been placed in the category of ‘Prameh’ and there are very simple and effective treatments for it. He stressed that diabetes control requires discipline before medicines. According to Ayurveda, regular physical activities like yoga, pranayam and walking for at least 30-40 minutes every day are most helpful in keeping the blood sugar level balanced. According to Dr. Jyoti, consuming fresh Neem and Giloy or Jamun seed powder on an empty stomach in the morning also gives amazing results in controlling sugar. This medical method not only treats the symptoms, but also re-energizes the body by increasing its internal immunity.

Food and monitoring are very important
Dietary discipline is the biggest medicine for diabetic patients. Dr. Jyoti has advised that fresh and healthy food is the basis of longevity. It is mandatory to stay away from junk food, excessive sweets and items made from refined flour. Along with this, your diet should be changed according to the season and seasonal fruits and vegetables should be given priority. It is equally important to do regular monitoring of blood sugar, so that the fluctuations in the body can be detected in time. Dr. Jyoti believes that if people adopt discipline in their daily routine, exercise regularly and follow the principles of Ayurveda, it is possible to live a healthy and long life even with a serious disease like diabetes.
