Home Remedies for Constipation: Constipation is considered a problem of Vata dosha in Ayurveda. Ayurvedic doctor Narendra Kumar has suggested effective uses of Triphala, castor oil and flaxseed to overcome this. Change in lifestyle and proper eating habits is the only permanent cure.

People often ignore constipation considering it to be a common stomach problem. But in reality it is not a common disease. This is not only a problem of digestion but also a problem of Vata dosha. Ayurvedic doctor Narendra Kumar told that when the dry, hard and cold properties of Vata increase and accumulate in the large intestine, then the stool becomes dry and hard. If care is not taken in time, this constipation can become the root of many serious diseases in future.

Ayurvedic doctor Narendra Kumar said that today’s irregular lifestyle has made constipation common. Lack of fiber in the diet, not consuming enough water, excessive non-vegetarian food, cold, stale and dry food, eating late at night and lack of physical activity all increase Vata. Apart from this, stress, anxiety and irregular routine are also considered to be the main causes of constipation.

In such a situation, if constipation is not taken care of, many types of side effects can occur. Both body and mind are affected. The effects of constipation are not limited to the stomach only. This can also cause gas and bloating in the stomach, headache, bad breath, increase in toxins in the body and skin problems. Prolonged constipation weakens the Agni of the body, which affects overall health.

Ayurvedic doctor Narendra Kumar said that in Ayurveda, it is not advised to suppress constipation but to balance Vata. For this you can take some measures at home. The first solution for this is to adopt a vata-shamaka diet. One should avoid cold food, raw salad, dry fruits, kidney beans and stale food. Instead of this, hot, fresh and easily digestible food should be eaten. At the same time, lukewarm water and a small amount of oil or ghee should be used in food.

Apart from this, another remedy is Triphala, which is considered a panacea for constipation in Ayurveda. It is very easy to consume it. For this, soak half to one teaspoon of Triphala powder in a cup of hot water for 5 to 10 minutes and consume it at night. If there is frequent urination at night, it can be taken in the morning on an empty stomach. Triphala improves the natural movement of the intestines by making the stool soft.

Apart from this, you can adopt home Ayurvedic remedies for this problem. Castor oil is considered very useful in constipation. For this, two spoons of castor oil mixed in ginger tea can be consumed at night. At the same time, flaxseed is also an effective remedy. Boiling one spoon of flax seeds in water and drinking it along with the seeds at night helps in moving the stool. For constipation in children, it is better to give three figs soaked in lukewarm water in the morning.
