KOLKATA: The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) will not challenge the International Cricket Council’s (ICC) decision to replace Scotland for the upcoming ICC Men’s Twenty20 World Cup. The ICC replaced Bangladesh with Scotland on Saturday (January 24) after India and Sri Lanka decided to refuse to come to India for Group C matches in the 20-team tournament to be held at eight venues from February 7 to March 8.
After the board meeting in Dhaka on Saturday, BCB media committee chairman Amjad Hossain sealed the news of the decision not to challenge the ICC decision. “We have accepted the decision of the ICC board,” ESPN Cricinfo quoted Amjad as saying.
He added, “Since the ICC has said we can’t play or they can’t shift our game to Sri Lanka, in this case we can’t play in India. Our position remains the same. We are not going for any separate arbitration or anything.”
