BCCI has taken a big initiative to strengthen the cricket infrastructure of the country. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) on Monday issued a notification for the recruitment of several coaching and performance-related posts at its Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. The main objective of this initiative is to strengthen the trajectory of Indian cricket through performance analysis through skill development, improved coaching system and modern facilities.
BCCI has invited applications for a total of several important posts. These include 2 posts of Batting Coach, 3 posts of Fast Bowling Coach, 4 posts of Fielding Coach (including 3 male and 1 female) and 1 post of Performance Analyst. All positions will be based at the BCCI Center of Excellence in Bengaluru. Last date for submission of application is 27 February 5 pm (India time).
BCCI Secretary Debjit Saikia said that the preliminary selection will be done after reading the applications. Eligible candidates may then be called for personal interview or further evaluation as required. The whole process will be done as per BCCI’s own policy.
The Batting Coaches will be responsible for improving the batting skills of the senior national teams, India ‘A’, under-age teams and state organization cricketers. They will work closely with the Head Cricket Coach and conduct specific batting programmes, setting performance targets and monitoring. Also coordinate with national coaches, selectors and sports science team.
Fast bowling coaches will work on technical, tactical and physical development of pacers. Fielding coaches will be responsible for improving the fitness, catching and throwing skills of the players. Performance analysts, on the other hand, analyze match and practice data to help the coaching and medical team make strategic decisions. With this recruitment process, Indian cricket is expected to stand on a firmer footing in the future.
