Shop owner Dhruv Ghosh said, “This shop is 64 years old. Everyone knows this shop as Dhruvar Kalakand after my name. We try to keep the quality of sweets good, everyone likes the current Kalakand so everyone comes here.” When asked why Kalakand is sold by weight, Dhruv Ghosh said, “I have to buy everything by weight, so I also sell by weight.”
While other sweets are sold in the shop, Kalakand is the most in demand. Many people come from far away to take Kalakand. A customer who came to buy sweets from such a shop said, “I have been buying sweets here for four years. The quality is good, it is good to eat, so I take Kalakand from here. If I need sweets for Puja Parban or home, I take Kalakand from here.
This delicious sweet made from milk, milk and other ingredients has been doing business in this way for the past few decades, pleasing the people of Katwa and its surrounding areas.
