Small children are not able to express their problems properly, in such a situation the worry of the parents increases further. Increase in cough at night, wheezing sound in the chest or frequent cold are signs that the child’s respiratory system is weakening. Doctor Anil Patel of Khandwa, Madhya Pradesh tells Local 18 that according to Ayurveda, Kapha dosha increases in children during the cold season. Cold things, ice cream, cold drinks, weak immunity and changing weather are the main reasons for this. The good thing is that some such indigenous and safe remedies have been suggested in Ayurveda, by adopting which children can get relief even without medicine.
Dr. Anil Patel explains that there are many reasons behind accumulation of phlegm in children, frequent eating of cold things, weak digestion, change in weather, viral infection or allergy. When phlegm increases too much, it starts accumulating in the chest and lungs, causing cough and chest tightness.
