Chinese President Xi Jinping was seen playing a double game today. He has talked to both Russian President Putin and Trump in one day. There was a video conferencing between Jinping and Putin, a few hours after this, Trump also reported on Truth Social that he had a long conversation on the phone with Jinping. He has also confirmed the month of his China visit. Trump has said in his post that Xi Jinping has agreed to accept his words regarding soybean purchase.

Trump called Jinping
Washington: Troubled by Trump’s tariff policies, countries have started looking for alternatives to America. Now seeing the tables turning, Trump has become active and on one hand he has finalized the trade deal with India after months, on the other hand he has started trying to increase friendship with China. Recently, when Xi Jinping and Putin talked over video conferencing, Trump became restless. He spoke to Jinping on phone shortly after the meeting and then shared the entire conversation by posting it on social media.
What happened between Trump and Jinping?
The most surprising part of this conversation was ‘Soybean Diplomacy’. According to Trump, China, which once glared at America, has now come down on its knees and is ready to buy 20 million tons of soybean. Not only this, this figure can go up to 25 million tonnes for the next season. Trump has directly opened the treasury for American farmers.
In his post, he has also mentioned ‘amazing personal chemistry’ with Xi Jinping.
Economic and diplomatic agreements between China and America
- Agriculture and Soybean: According to Trump, China has considered increasing the purchase of soybean to 20 million tons for this season and has promised 25 million tons for the next season. This is a big relief news for American farmers.
- Energy and Technology: Along with China’s purchase of oil and gas from America, the delivery of airplane engines has also been discussed.
- Upcoming Beijing visit: President Trump has confirmed his April 2026 visit to China, aimed at further strengthening trade and military ties between the two countries.
- Iran and Russia-Ukraine war: During this call, Trump also talked in detail about the current situation in Iran and the ongoing war between Russia and Ukraine. The US administration is pressurizing China to help isolate Iran.
- Taiwan issue: As always, the topic of Taiwan remained in discussion. While Trump called it a part of his talks, the Chinese side has emphasized on its One China policy.
