What did Trump say on the change of power in Iran?
Reza Pahlavi is the son of the last Shah of Iran and has been living outside Iran since the 1979 Islamic Revolution. During the current protests, he has emerged as the voice of the Iranian movement from abroad. However, Iran’s opposition is divided into many factions and there is no strong organized structure visible within the country. Trump admitted that in the current situation, Iran’s clerical government may also fall. He said that the truth is that any government in the world can fall. Whether Iran’s government falls or not, this period is going to be interesting. However, he made it clear that at present America is not in a position to put forward any one leader.
‘Zelensky is an obstacle in ending the war’
During the interview, Trump also made a statement on the Ukraine war and directly described Vladimir Zelensky as the biggest obstacle in talks with Russia. Trump said that Russian President Vladimir Putin is ready for a deal, but the real obstacle is Zelensky. Trump said that Zelensky will have to be prepared for compromise. He also admitted that his claim of ending the war quickly before becoming President did not prove easy.
Speaking on America’s domestic politics, Trump took on some MPs from his own party. He said that the Republican leaders who are raising questions on the investigation matters related to Federal Reserve Chief Jerome Powell should be loyal. Trump also rejected JPMorgan chief Jamie Dimon’s comment that Fed intervention could increase inflation. Trump clearly said that it does not matter to him.
Is a big decision going to be taken regarding Venezuela?
In the interview, Trump told that he is also going to meet Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado on Thursday. This will be their first face-to-face meeting. Trump described her as a good woman and said that the talks would be on basic issues. Trump also praised Venezuela’s acting President Delsey Rodriguez and said that the conversation with her was interesting. All this is happening at a time when America has claimed to take control of the country by arresting former Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro.
