Once again a major breach has been attempted in the security of US President Donald Trump’s ‘Mar-a-Lago’ resort in Florida. However, the American Secret Service immediately sensed this danger and killed an armed intruder on the spot. This man has been identified as 21 year old Austin Tucker Martin. Who was Austin Tucker Martin?

Austin was missing: 21-year-old Austin was a resident of North Carolina, America. According to Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi, Austin had been missing for several days and his family had also filed a missing person’s report.

Weapons purchased on the way: Investigators believe he traveled from North Carolina to Florida and that it was during this trip that he purchased the shotgun with which he entered the resort. Later an empty box of weapons was also recovered from his car.

What happened that night at Mar-a-Lago?

According to officials, this entire incident happened on Sunday around 1:30 pm local time. Austin entered his car from the ‘North Gate’ of Palm Beach Estate when another car was coming out from there.

Weapons and Petrol: Once inside, he encountered two Secret Service agents and a Palm Beach County Sheriff’s deputy. Austin had a shotgun and a petrol canister.

Firing position and death: Palm Beach County Sheriff Rick Bradshaw said security personnel repeatedly warned him to put down his weapons and gasoline canister. He kept the petrol can but raised his shotgun into firing position. In response, the law enforcement officials immediately opened fire and killed him on the spot. No officer has been injured in this incident.

High-level investigation started

What was the motive of the attack, it is not yet clear and the officials are investigating it thoroughly. The FBI, Secret Service and Palm Beach County Sheriff’s Office are jointly investigating this case. FBI Director Kash Patel has said that all necessary resources have been deployed to get to the bottom of this case and coordination is being done with local agencies. Investigative agencies are investigating Austin’s background, digital footprint (Internet and social media history) and his every activity in the few days before the incident. The Secret Service has appealed to people living near Mar-a-Lago to check their home surveillance (CCTV) footage from that night and turn any suspicious recordings over to investigative agencies.

Attorney General Pam Bandy said that she has spoken to President Trump and he is safe. White House Press Secretary Carolyn Leavitt praised the Secret Service’s quick and decisive action to neutralize the armed intruder. At the same time, Treasury Secretary Scott Besant appeared on television and strongly condemned such violent political rhetoric and incidents.
