Donald Trump on Greenland: ‘What I say I do, what I don’t say I definitely do… This is a dialogue from Akshay Kumar’s 2012 film Rowdy Rathore. This dialogue tickled people a lot.
But, in real life this dialogue is giving pain to people all over the world. Actually, we are talking about American President Donald Trump here, you must have understood. Trump had recently said in one of his press conferences that ‘I don’t need international law, only my own morality, my own mind can stop me.’ Yes, Trump – Iran, Venezuela, Mexico and Colombia…. Don’t know how many countries are being threatened continuously. Recently, their army kidnapped the Venezuelan President at midnight, a case is being prosecuted against him in New York. Now Trump is continuously making statements to capture Greenland. His statement cannot be taken lightly because he is adopting the policy of ‘Sama, Daam, Dand Bhede’.
Trump is once again seen in his old colors in his second term. Once again the people have started singing the praises of Greenland. After completely establishing his influence on Venezuela, Trump now has his eyes set on the world’s largest island, Greenland. Trump argues that after Venezuela, it has now become very important to capture Greenland to ensure America’s security. From the corridors of the White House to the platforms of social media, the only discussion now is whether America will actually make this huge icy island its 51st state?

What is Trump’s excuse?
Donald Trump has cited national security for occupying Greenland. He believes that the influence of Russia and China on the areas around Greenland is continuously increasing. This can directly prove to be a big threat to America. However, inside there is something different. Trump has his eyes on the changing geopolitics and natural resources in the Arctic region. Trump clearly says that if America does not take timely action, Greenland will become a base for opponents, due to which the security of American borders may be in danger. To strengthen this security cordon, they seem ready to go to any extent.
What bet are you playing?
Trump has come up with a unique and expensive plan to capture Greenland. If reports are to be believed, Trump is luring the citizens of Greenland with huge amounts of money to win their hearts. To woo the people there, the Trump administration is talking about giving lump sum payment ranging from $10,000 to $100,000. This is a strategy that Trump is considering as part of his business acumen. He believes that if the people of Greenland are made so economically strong, they would prefer to be a part of America rather than Denmark.
There is a stir all over the world
This plan of Donald Trump has created a stir all over the world. Denmark had earlier also rejected any such proposal outright, but after the events in Venezuela, now the world is not taking Trump’s threats and plans lightly. Trump’s supporters are considering this as a bold step towards making America great again. His critics say that this step of Trump is an attack on the sovereignty of other countries. Is the occupation of Greenland really necessary to stop Russia and China or is it just a part of Trump’s expansionist thinking, still remains a question for the people.
Why is Greenland special for America?
Greenland is extremely important for the US strategically, defensively and economically. Its geographical location makes it an impenetrable shield (like the Pitufik Space Base) near the North Pole and Russia. This is essential for early warning of missile attacks and space surveillance. From an economic perspective, Greenland has vast and untouched reserves of rare earth elements, uranium, oil and gas, which are considered strategically important to eliminate US dependence on China in the future high-tech and electric vehicle industry. Along with this, America’s top priorities are to gain control over the new ‘Arctic sea trade routes’ (such as the Northwest Passage) that are opening up due to the melting ice due to climate change and to ensure its national security by stopping the increasing military and commercial activities of Russia and China in the region.
Your opinion is also important
Trump has his eyes set on Greenland. Looking at their recent actions, experts say that they can also take over, which can prove to be very dangerous for the world because on their lines, powerful countries will start dominating weaker countries and start exploiting their human and natural resources.
