Talking to Local 18, Dr. Sumant Gupta, doctor of Kesari Raj Hospital, says that the month of Ramadan is going on and people keep fast for about 12 hours. There are two main times in Ramadan – Sehri and Iftar. Sehri is done in the morning and Iftar is done in the evening. At the time of Sehri, people should take protein rich foods in large quantities. Besides, complex carbohydrates should also be consumed more, so that the food gets digested slowly and the body continues to get energy for a long time. One should not consume tea, coffee or cold drinks during Sehri, because their consumption leads to excessive urination, which can lead to dehydration in the body.
Eat dates and drink water while having iftar
While having Iftar in the evening, first of all one should eat dates and drink water. After this, consume protein rich foods and then carbohydrate rich foods, so that the body can get adequate amount of energy. Fasting for a long time causes dehydration in the body. Lack of water can affect the kidneys and kidneys, therefore, while fasting, take special care that there is no dehydration in the body. Before fasting at night, drink sufficient amount of water, so that the body remains hydrated. Lack of water in the body can give rise to many types of diseases.

After fasting the whole day, one should not drink large amounts of water immediately while having Iftar in the evening. Try to eat lightly sweet dates first and then drink water, so that there is no sudden adverse effect on health.
