China's game on the pretext of Iran-Venezuela, preparation to change the world order

Beijing. Taking advantage of America’s preoccupation with the crises related to Venezuela and Iran, China is strengthening its strategic influence at the global level. According to a report in the European Times, Beijing is presenting itself as a ‘stabilizing power’ through economic partnership rather than military intervention, although many questions are being raised on the credibility of this claim.

The report said that China’s proximity to regimes such as the Maduro government in Venezuela and the fundamentalist leadership of Iran could weaken its so-called ‘stability’ image. Additionally, China’s own sovereignty claims over Taiwan and Tibet contradict its arguments of non-intervention and stability, leading many countries to adopt a cautious stance and view China’s strategy as a cover for expansionism.

“As Washington grapples with multiple crises such as Venezuela and Iran, Beijing sees an opportunity to reestablish itself as a stabilizing force in global affairs. This is not mere opportunism but part of China’s long-term strategy to reshape the norms of the international system,” the report said.

According to the report, the US’s activism in Venezuela reflects its efforts to maintain dominance in the Western Hemisphere, while China is expanding its influence with countries in Latin America and the Caribbean by providing infrastructure and investment without any political conditions through the China-SALAC platform.

Regarding Iran, the report says that it remains important for China’s energy security. China’s decision to continue trade despite sanctions presents it as a reliable partner compared to America’s punitive policy. The report also noted that China’s current strategy is similar to those periods in history when emerging powers took advantage of America’s engagements.
