Shop owner Ganesh Modak said, “Their shop was established by his father a long time ago. But since he took charge of the shop, he started making various sweets. On any special occasion, he makes more or less new types of sweets in his shop. This time, on the occasion of Puja, he has made this Jalsa Kalakand sweet. Although it is called Kalakand, its taste is completely different from ordinary Kalakand. It has a bit of juiciness in it. Besides, this sweet is crunchy when you put it in your mouth. Instead, this special jalsa kalakand sweet is made with pure chickpeas.”
Biswajit Dutta and Subal Bhowmik, two customers who came to buy sweets at the shop, said, “It is really wonderful to eat this sweet that costs only ten rupees. You have to stand in line to buy this sweet. But this sweet is probably available for the first time in Cooch Behar. Because the people of Cooch Behar may have never had this sweet before. But many people have already started flocking to taste this sweet. At present, this sweet is in limited quantity.
