John Bolton lashed out at Trump
Tehran: Amidst the chaos in the Middle East, America’s former National Security Advisor (NSA) John Bolton has opened a front against his own government. In an interview given to Firstpost, Bolton has raised serious questions on President Donald Trump’s war policy. Bolton clearly said that Trump is failing miserably in explaining to the American public and Congress why this war is being fought. He warned that this war, which is being fought without any clear goal, could drag on for years like Vietnam or Afghanistan.
‘When the goal is not clear, then what is victory?’ :John Bolton
John Bolton himself has been the biggest supporter of regime change in Iran but he is very unhappy with Trump’s style. Bolton said, ‘If you don’t know what your goal is, how will you explain it to the world?’ He alleged that the Trump administration has started this war without any preparation. According to Bolton, Trump sometimes says one thing and sometimes says something else, and his ‘uncertainty’ is the biggest threat to America.
Advice for ‘apology’ on Minab school massacre
The whole world is cursing America over the death of 165 girls in Minab School of Iran. On this, Bolton said that although America may not have deliberately targeted innocent people, but if it is our fault, then ‘we should apologize and pay compensation’. He expressed suspicion that perhaps that building might have been a part of a military complex earlier and American intelligence did not know that a school was now running there. He termed it as ‘gross negligence’.
Threat to Trump’s chair?
Bolton warned that if the siege of Hormuz continues longer and oil prices rise, it will have a direct impact on American politics. He said that Trump did not correctly estimate Iran’s counterattack. If electricity bills and petrol prices continue to rise in the homes of the American people, then public support for Trump will evaporate within a few days.
Will the government fall?
However, Bolton also acknowledged that the public inside Iran is extremely angry about the death of Mahsa Amini and the economic crisis. According to him, youth and women in all 31 provinces of Iran are against the government. Bolton predicted that if the current regime falls, there could be a temporary ‘military government’, after which a new constitution will be formed.
