The first Pediatric Pulmonology ICU has been opened in Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital, Delhi. After AIIMS, RML has become the second hospital where this facility is available for children. Here children will be able to get advanced treatment for respiratory and lung diseases.

RML Hospital News: The number of children suffering from serious lung and respiratory diseases due to pollution in Delhi is continuously increasing. However, now these children will be able to get even better treatment. The first pediatric pulmonology ICU has been opened in Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia, the central government hospital in Delhi. Till now this facility was available only with AIIMS New Delhi. Now sick children will get the benefit of this ICU in RML Hospital also.
He told that in 2019, ICU sanction was done for the Pediatrics Department of Ram Manohar Lohia Hospital by the Division Pediatric Pulmonology, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare. Under this, the department has complete arrangements for the treatment of complex respiratory and lung diseases. There is a provision for bronchoscopy lab, sleep lab and special clinic for lung diseases. Now with the completion of the ICU system, the treatment of children will become even better and advanced.
Dr. Hema Gupta Mittal, Incharge Pediatric Pulmonology Division, said that this facility will improve specialized care and ICU facilities for children suffering from lung problems in Delhi and North India. Sick children come to RML not only from Delhi but patients from entire NCR and the country come.
