However, be it Rath Mela or Poush Parban, or entering the fair grounds, Bengalis are found in some special shops. Jilipi fulfills the satisfaction of such Rasana. Even if it is available for only five taka? Many may be surprised to hear this but it is true. This delicious chicken Jilapi is available in Bengai area of Goghat in Hooghly. The shop of sweet merchant Devarshi Ghosh has seen a crowd of customers since morning to buy jalapis.
It should be noted that to make this chick jelly, one third of flour and one third of chickpea semolina, sugar powder and cardamom powder should be mixed very well. Cut small lychees into jelly-like shapes and fry very well in deep oil. Add sugar, little salt, cardamom powder, clove powder and make a paste. Now after dipping the fried jillapis in the vein, delicious chicken jillapi will be prepared.
Devarshi Babu said, ‘Many people are gathering in the shop before morning. They have been selling this delicious jilpi made from chickpeas for several years.
