Two former world-winning captains Mahendra Singh Dhoni and Rohit Sharma brought the World Cup trophy to the field before the match. They sat in the gallery and enjoyed the entire match.
India got the opportunity to bat first after losing the toss in the final. Indian batsmen played aggressively from the start. In scheduled 20 overs, India lost 5 wickets and scored huge 255 runs. Chasing this big goal, New Zealand was under pressure from the start. In the end they were all out for 159 runs due to the great bowling of the Indian bowlers. As a result, India secured the title by winning by a huge margin of 96 runs.
