Way’s to reduce heart disease risk: Ignoring heart health in today’s fast-paced life can prove costly. Wrong eating habits, junk food and increasing stress are rapidly increasing the risk of heart diseases. In such a situation, Ayurveda emphasizes on balanced diet and natural foods.

Due to today’s busy life and poor eating habits, people are facing problems like diabetes, thyroid and heart disease at an early age. Constant stress, work pressure and not getting enough sleep have a bad effect on the heart and mind. The number of people suffering from heart diseases is increasing every year. While on one hand awareness campaigns are being run, Ayurveda believes that the solution to prevent many diseases is present in our kitchen itself.
According to Ayurveda, one of the main causes of heart disease is the toxic elements accumulated in the body and mental stress. Junk food, excess sweets, packed items and irregular daily routine harm heart health. In such a situation, pulses and beans have been considered very beneficial. These are an important part of the Indian diet and regular consumption can reduce the risk of heart diseases.
Pulses and beans are rich in soluble fiber, which helps in reducing bad cholesterol. When the level of cholesterol in the body increases, the pressure on the blood vessels increases, due to which the heart may have trouble pumping blood. Due to this, nervousness, shortness of breath and heartbeat can be affected.
Apart from this, their glycemic index is low, which helps in controlling blood sugar and blood pressure. Lentils, moong, kidney beans, gram, cowpea and moth dal are considered especially beneficial for heart health. For better health, salad, soup, green vegetables and brown rice should also be included in the diet, because the antioxidants present in them are helpful in protecting the body from many diseases.
