Way to improve oral health.
Dentist Recommends 5 Tips for Strong Teeth: We often think of teeth as just a means of chewing, but the truth is much deeper than this. The mouth is the first entrance to our body and teeth are the first wall of protection. So many types of hormones and chemicals are released in the mouth that many reactions in the body including digestion begin from here. If teeth and gums are not healthy, its effect is not limited to the mouth only, but can also affect the heart, brain and digestive system. Many researches have revealed that there may be a relationship between gum disease and heart diseases. Therefore, it is important that we not only make our teeth strong like steel, but also keep them so clean that there is no disease. For this we appointed Clove Dental Senior Consultant and Prosthodontist Dr. Kommalu Tejavath Talked to.
What to do for complete oral health
- First of all cleaning teeth-Dr. Kommalu Tejavath said that the first condition for whiten teeth and complete oral health is to brush the teeth daily. It is important to know how to clean with a brush. Your brush should always be soft but not too soft. When you brush your teeth with paste, keep the brush in such a way that an angle of 45 degrees is formed. Always place the brush on the gums and rub the teeth upwards from there. Do not move back and forth in a straight line. Effort should be made to ensure that there are no food particles in the gap between two teeth. Along with this, your paste should be good. Do not use paste which contains many types of chemicals. Do not brush for more than two minutes. If you feel that food particles are stuck on your teeth after eating and drinking throughout the day, then definitely brush at night.
- Brushing the tongue and cleaning the mouth- This is a very important thing. Whenever you brush, move the brush on your tongue also. Do not rotate it too much, but do rotate the brush with paste on the tongue once or twice. Due to this, the harmful bacteria present on the tongue will die. Because a layer of bacteria accumulates on the tongue, which causes bad breath. Clean your tongue with tongue cleaner after brushing daily. Apart from this, using alcohol-free mouthwash reduces mouth germs and keeps the breath fresh. It also helps in keeping the gums healthy. Although mouthwash is not a substitute for brushing, it does provide additional protection. Clean your mouth with mouthwash two to three days a week.
- Salt-water gargle-Dr. Kommalu Tejavath says that to prevent any kind of disease from developing in the mouth, you must gargle with salt and water for one or two days. Mix a little salt in lukewarm water and if you can gargle it every day, then do it once. With this, your mouth will always remain clean and the layer of teeth will not become dirty. This will prevent bacteria or harmful microorganisms from colonizing.
- Do natural cleaning 1-2 times a week- Dr. Kommalu says that in olden times, hardly anyone’s teeth had dirt or were damaged. There were many reasons for this. In olden times, people used to make teeth from neem branches. Along with this, they used to make teeth from many other types of trees. This method is still valid today. Make a toothpick from a neem branch and rub one end of it to make it soft like a brush and then brush with it. If you brush your teeth with Neem twice a week, many types of harmful bacteria will be eliminated from the mouth. Neem toothpaste is also a traditional and effective method, which helps in strengthening the gums and reduces bacteria. This also reduces bad breath. It prevents problems like cavity, pyorrhea.
- Get your dental checkup done twice a year-This is a very important but often ignored advice. Even if you do not feel any problem, still get yourself checked by a dentist at least twice a year. Many times the problem of teeth or gums does not cause pain in the initial stage, but keeps increasing internally. By getting tested on time, cavity, gingivitis, pyorrhea or other infections can be detected early and treatment becomes easier. Professional cleaning also removes accumulated tartar, which cannot be cleaned with a normal brush.
