Rapist, thief, ill-mannered... ICE wreaks havoc on Indian citizen, preparations for deportationZoom

ICE called the Indian a thief and rapist.

America’s Immigration Authority once again targeted an Indian youth and made such charges against him that he himself was shocked to hear it. The boy’s name is Vodela Yashasvi Kotapalli and America’s Immigration and Custom Enforcement i.e. ICE has written about him on social media that he is an illegal immigrant. Not only this, the agency has charged him with sexual assault, breaking the law and looting a shop.

In this way, immigration action has once again created a stir in America. US Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), while detaining a person, has made it clear that he will be kept in custody till the completion of the deportation proceedings under US Immigration law. Surprisingly, the authorities have not made public the date of the arrest, the county in which the case has been registered or the full details of the alleged crimes.

Serious allegations against Indian citizen

The agency issued a statement saying that the criminal charges leveled at this stage are only allegations and the final decision will be taken only through the judicial process, that is, only after a hearing in the court, it will be decided whether the person is guilty or not. Yashasvi Kotapalli has been accused of sexually assaulting a 13-year-old girl. He violated the law and looted shops.

Indian citizens on America’s target?

Meanwhile, concern is also deepening about the increasing deportation of Indian citizens from America. The Government of India informed the Parliament that in the year 2025, more than 3,800 Indian citizens were sent back from America. This action was taken after citizenship verification and coordination between the two countries. However, it has not been made clear how many of these deported people were those who had criminal charges and how many were sent back merely due to violation of immigration rules. This lack of data is raising many questions.

ICE action increased tension

US officials say non-citizens who have been accused or convicted of serious crimes, especially those involving minors, are given priority in the detention and removal process. Under American law, such people can be kept in immigration custody until their criminal trial is completed. This entire situation has raised concerns in the Indian community. Legal experts say that the line between immigration and criminal cases is sometimes complex and transparency in such cases is extremely important. Amidst the increasing deportations and strict immigration policy, this matter has once again become a matter of concern and pressure for foreign citizens living in America.
