India took their win against Pakistan to 8 in the T20 World Cup in Colombo with a 61-run win. India controlled the match right from the start and put pressure on the opposition and ended up winning by a landslide.
After the win, congratulations poured in on social media. Former IPL Commissioner Lalit Modi praised the team’s performance and praised head coach Gautam Gambhir’s coaching. He said in his message, as expected, this victory will increase the confidence of the team. In response, Gambhir briefly thanked and accepted the greetings.
Ishan Kishan laid the foundation of victory in the match. And on the somewhat slow pitch of Premadasa Stadium, he played a brilliant innings of 77 runs off 40 balls. His controlled attacking batting saw India score 175 for 7, a very competitive score in the circumstances. His brilliant shots and runs in the middle overs kept the team going.
In the run chase, Pakistan were under pressure from the start. Jasprit Bumrah and Hardik Pandya tore through the top order with successive strikes and Babar Azam’s quick departure tilted the match in India’s favour. In the end, Pakistan were bowled out for 114 runs, India secured an emphatic win and booked their place in the last eight.
