US President Donald Trump claimed that the trade agreement with India will lead to a huge increase in American coal exports. In the ‘Champion of Coal’ program, Trump described America as the world’s number one energy producer and said that the deals with India, Japan and South Korea will establish American coal more strongly in the global market.

Washington: US President Donald Trump on Wednesday, while referring to the trade agreement with India, described it as a historic deal. He said that this deal will take America’s coal exports to new heights. Speaking at the ‘Champion of Coal’ event, Trump described the agreement as a symbol of America’s growing power in the global energy market. Trump said that America has currently become the number one energy producing country in the world and is now rapidly emerging as a major energy exporter. According to him, in the last few months, America has made ‘historic trade agreements’ with countries like India, Japan and South Korea, the purpose of which is to increase the export of American coal on a large scale.
Our coal is the best in the world – Trump
He said, ‘Our coal is considered to be of the best quality in the world. On the basis of this quality, we are making our strong hold in the international market. Trump indicated that this arrangement with India is not just a simple trade deal, but part of America’s broader energy strategy, under which American coal is being established as a premium product.
