Indo-French AI center for health in AIIMS: India and France have jointly started the Indo-French Center for AI in Health at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences, New Delhi. This step is a major initiative towards promoting the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in the health sector and strengthening cooperation between the two countries. This center was inaugurated by Union Health Minister JP Nadda and French President Emmanuel Macron. Here work will be done in 3 such areas of health sector, about which there is not only concern in the whole world but also a lot of work is needed.
Why has this center been opened?
This center will promote AI-based research, medical education and development of new technologies by uniting experts from France and India. Here we will see an unmatched confluence of medicine, engineering and artificial intelligence, through which new discoveries and answers to complex questions will be found in the field of health.

Let us tell you that it was launched during a big academic program named RUSH 2026. When the Indo-French Forum: AI in Brain Health and Global Healthcare session was held. During this period, scientists, doctors and policy makers discussed the responsible use of AI.
What did President Macron say?
Regarding the Indo-French Centre, President Macron said that India and France together want to create such AI systems which are based on their resources and talent. He also said that AI should be used for the betterment of humanity. Apart from the safety of children, transparency in AI systems, protection from bias and misuse, protection of language and cultural diversity, participation of youth is very important. Macron also visited the AIIMS campus.
