Mumbai: The schedule of the tournament suddenly changed in the middle of IPL (IPL 2026)! IPLThe Indian Cricket Board has announced major changes in the schedule.

Due to the upcoming municipal elections in Ahmedabad, the venue and time of 2 matches of IPL 2026 have been changed. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) has said in a statement that the April 26 Chennai Super Kings vs Gujarat Titans match will now be played at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai due to the municipal elections in Ahmedabad.

The schedule has changed

The match between Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans was scheduled to be played in Ahmedabad on 26 April. However, due to the municipal elections to be held on April 26, the venue of this match has been changed to Chennai. The match will start at 3:30 PM on April 26.

On the other hand, the match between these two teams was scheduled to be played in Chennai on May 21, but that match was also shifted to Ahmedabad. The Chennai vs Gujarat match on 21 May will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. This match will start at 7:30 PM.

Apart from these two matches in IPL 2026, the schedule of any other match has not been changed. Earlier BCCI released the complete schedule of the tournament in two separate phases. First, the schedule till April 12 was released. followed by West Bengal, Tamil Nadu, Assam and Kerala Assembly electionsThe rest of the schedule was released after the date was announced.

Looking at the points table so far in IPL 2026, Rajasthan Royals are at the top after winning all four of their matches. Chennai Super Kings and Gujarat Titans have not had a good season so far. CSK has just one win in 4 matches and they are ninth in the points table. The Gujarat team is currently ranked fifth.
