Washington: Despite continuous attacks by America and Israel, Iran does not seem to be bowing down. In such a situation, Washington is now working on a new strategy. According to reports, the American intelligence agency CIA is working on a plan to create instability inside Iran and instigate a possible civil war. Under this, an attempt is being made to arm Iranian Kurdish fighters and pit them against the Tehran government. According to CNN’s report, sources said that the Trump administration is in talks with Iranian opposition groups and Kurdish leaders of Iraq.
What is America thinking of doing?
The plan is to provide military support to Kurdish fighters operating near the Iran-Iraq border so that they can put pressure on security forces in western Iran. It is believed that Kurdish fighters may start a ground campaign in the coming days. Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has also sensed this danger. It has recently carried out drone attacks on Kurdish positions near the border. Some Kurdish organizations have also issued statements appealing to Iranian soldiers to revolt against the government.
What plan did America make?
According to the report, on Tuesday, US President Donald Trump also spoke to Mustafa Hijri, leader of the Iranian Kurdish organization Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (KDPI). At the same time, discussions have also been held with Iraqi Kurdish leaders as to how cooperation can be done if the campaign starts. Analysts believe that America’s strategy could be that Kurdish fighters keep Iran’s army engaged on the border, so that protests against the government can intensify in big cities. However, experts are warning that this step may further increase instability in the region and may also affect Iraq’s sovereignty.
Can Kurds challenge Iran?
Intelligence assessments also show that Iranian Kurdish groups do not yet have the strength to challenge the Tehran government alone. For this they will need American and Israeli support on a large scale. If conflict erupts within Iran amid the already ongoing war in the Middle East, then this conflict could take a more dangerous form. Experts believe that such a situation can destabilize the entire region for a long time.
