IVF Success Rates by Age: According to fertility experts, the success rate of IVF depends to a great extent on the age of the woman. The success rate of IVF is highest before the age of 35. After 40, the success rate decreases due to low egg quality. It should not be assumed that IVF is a miraculous solution.

IVF technique is more effective before the age of 40.
Best Age for IVF Treatment: Nowadays people are preferring to marry late and are giving priority to their career. There was a time when people used to get married at the age of 18-20, but now it is becoming normal to get married at the age of 30. Nowadays, due to changing lifestyle, late marriage and career, many women plan pregnancy after the age of 30-35. Many times, due to poor fertility, women are not able to conceive naturally. In such a situation, in vitro fertilization i.e. IVF process proves helpful. However, the question in people’s mind is whether IVF is equally effective at every age?
Dr. Sonali Gupta, IVF specialist at Bliss IVF and Gynecology Care Center, Greater Noida, told News18. That 20 to 30 years of age is considered best for IVF. In this age, the number and quality of women’s eggs improves, due to which the chances of embryo formation and pregnancy are higher. The success rate of IVF remains good even between 30 and 35 years, but after 35 the egg quality gradually starts decreasing. After 35 years, fertility starts decreasing naturally, which also affects the success rate of IVF.
The doctor said that after the age of 40, there is a clear decline in the success rate of IVF. At this age, both the quality and number of eggs reduce, due to which the risk of chromosomal abnormality in the fetus increases. This reduces the chances of pregnancy and may increase the risk of miscarriage. However, every woman’s body is different. Therefore, in some cases IVF can be successful even after 40. Along with age, the male factor also plays an important role. Sperm quality, lifestyle, smoking, obesity and stress also affect the success of IVF. Therefore, not only the age of the woman but also the overall health condition of both the partners is important. It is important to get tested on time and consult a fertility specialist.
According to experts, IVF is an effective technique, but its success varies with age. The success rate is higher before the age of 35, while the challenges increase after 40. Therefore, if there is a delay in conception, it is better to contact a specialist soon. Right timing, right treatment and healthy lifestyle can increase the chances of IVF success. If IVF has failed repeatedly, the chances of success with your own eggs are reduced. In such a situation, donor egg IVF can be an option. Apart from this, uterine problems or uncontrolled health problems also affect IVF.
