The Jeffrey Epstein files released by the US Justice Department have revealed hundreds of emails and meetings between famous writer Deepak Chopra and Epstein. Close contacts between the two have come to light between 2016 and 2019. Chopra has denied any wrongdoing, but private conversations in the files have raised new questions.

Washington: From the Justice Department in America Millions of files related to Jeffrey Epstein After it was made public, another big name has come into discussion. New revelations have come about famous author and wellness guru Deepak Chopra’s relationship with Epstein. Chopra recently wrote on social media that his contact with Epstein was ‘limited’ and he was not involved in any illegal activity. But hundreds of emails and messages revealed in the released documents tell a different story. According to CNN report, there was continuous contact between the two between 2016 and 2019.

What message was sent to Epstein?

This was the period when in 2019, Epstein was arrested on charges of sex trafficking and exploitation of minor girls. Messages found in the files show that Deepak Chopra met Epstein at his New York home, a Florida property and a Paris apartment. There were conversations between the two regarding spirituality, health, lifestyle and mutual acquaintances. In many emails, Chopra used words like ‘Love’ or ‘XO’ at the end of the message. At one point he wrote, ‘I am deeply grateful for our friendship.’

What does Deepak Chopra say?

Deepak Chopra came to America from India and has been living there for the last several decades. He has written dozens of books on spirituality, meditation and alternative medicine and is considered a big name in the American media. Big names like Oprah Winfrey made him popular in America. However, Chopra has said that he did not do any wrong and the emails that have surfaced were written in the context of that time. He also said that he is saddened by the pain of the victims.

What else was found in the files?

There are also some such emails in the files, in which both are seen making personal and objectionable comments about women. In 2017, Chopra wrote in an email to Epstein that if he came to Israel, ‘bring your girls along.’ For another program also he had mentioned ‘coming with his girls’. However, it is not clear what the age of these ‘girls’ was. In some conversations, women were discussed in a light but controversial manner. At one point, Epstein jokingly wrote that he saw Chopra ‘gazing at his victim’. To this Chopra replied, ‘I am not a hunter, I am a lover.’

The files also reveal that Epstein had offered financial help to some of Chopra’s projects. In 2017, Chopra Foundation received an amount of 50 thousand dollars from an organization named ‘Gratitude America’, which is said to be associated with Epstein. Apart from this, there was also talk of seeking advice from Epstein and contacting potential investors for a wellness app project.
