Kapil Dev clearly stated that if the decision of not playing the match against India was their own, they could have come out and said so. But if this decision is imposed by the Pakistan Cricket Board, it hurts the honor and dignity of the country.

According to him, players should get a chance to prove themselves on the field, not have to pay for political or administrative decisions. The World Cup-winning captain of the Indian team termed this decision as very dangerous for Pakistan cricket. He said, Pakistan has always gifted the world with extraordinary cricket talent. But if players are prevented from playing on a big stage like the World Cup, it will have a direct impact on future generations. In the words of Kapil Dev, “You are doing injustice to your own players and harming cricket.”

The International Cricket Council (ICC) has also expressed concern over Pakistan’s stance and requested the board to reconsider. On the other hand, according to Kapil Dev, if there is no India-Pakistan match, then the audience will be the most disappointed. But he also added that if Pakistan remains firm in its decision, it may gradually lose the support of its supporters.
