Karate Champions: Representing Bengal in this competition held recently at Raniganj in West Burdwan, they won first, second and third positions in various categories.
Purulia: 9 talented karate players from Purulia have made the whole Bengal and Purulia district shine by achieving great success in the national level full contact karate competition. They represented Bengal in this competition held recently in Raniganj, West Burdwan and won the first, second and third positions in various categories.
About 400 karate competitors from different states of the country including Maharashtra, Bihar, Jharkhand participated in this competition. These players of Purulia reached the pinnacle of success by showing their skills, confidence and hard work on the stage of such a big and tough competition.
These 9 winners are regular training students of ‘Self Defense and Fitness’ Academy, Purulia. They have been undergoing rigorous karate training under the supervision of long-time experienced trainer Afzal Khan. Rudradev Banerjee, Ayushman Kumar Choubey and Chumki Modak, who achieved success in the competition, said, “We are all very happy to have achieved such success in the national level karate competition. We will continue to work hard to perform better in the future.” On the other hand, trainer Afzal Khan said, “This is not only the success of our academy, it is a matter of pride for the whole of Bengal.”
