Harshit Rana was injured just before the T20 World Cup. He injured his right knee while bowling in a warm-up match against South Africa. He then left the field after bowling just one over and was dropped from the entire World Cup. Mohammed Siraj got a chance in the team instead. Rana later underwent surgery, but there is no official announcement yet on when he will recover and return to the field.

Now the question arises, who will be replaced by Harshit Rana in IPL 2026? Various discussions are going on about this. Three pacers have come up as potential replacements, who could take his place in KKR. However, there are doubts about the extent to which whoever comes will be able to take the place of Inform Rana.

The first possible name is Chetan Sakaria. Although unsold in the IPL 2026 auction, he previously played for Rajasthan Royals in 2021 and later performed well for Delhi Capitals in 2022 and 2023 seasons. He was also associated with KKR in the 2024-25 season. He has 20 wickets in 20 matches so far in IPL.

Akash Madhwal could be the second possible option. He performed brilliantly in his debut season for Mumbai Indians in the IPL. Although nobody bought him in this auction, KKR can count on him. He has collected 23 wickets in 17 matches in IPL.

The third possible name is Simarjit Singh. He has played for Chennai Super Kings and Sunrisers Hyderabad in the past. He has 11 wickets in 14 matches in IPL. So in Rana’s absence, KKR is likely to pick one of these three pacers.
