Bilaspur. In today’s time, people are taking the help of various types of pills to overcome the deficiency of vitamins and minerals, but Ayurveda shows a different way from this thinking. According to Dr. Manoj Bhagat, an Ayurvedic expert from Bilaspur, Chhattisgarh, any type of vitamins or minerals in the body are not supplied by medicines but by a balanced and proper diet. There is no mention of vitamin pills in Ayurveda, rather food itself is considered medicine. If we include the 6 Rasas prescribed by Ayurveda in our daily diet, then the body can automatically remain healthy and energetic.

Doctor Manoj Bhagat explains that due to wrong eating habits, one-sided food and fast food habits, the body does not get the essential nutrients. For this reason, people feel weakness, fatigue and reduced immunity and go straight to supplements, whereas Ayurveda considers a balanced diet as the permanent solution.

6 juices of diet according to Ayurveda
He further explained that in Ayurveda, diet is divided into 6 major rasas (tastes), which have a deep effect on the body and mind.
Madhur (Sweet): Sugar, honey, milk, rice, ripe fruits.
Acid (sour): Lemon, curd, tamarind, vinegar.
Salt: Rock salt, black salt, sea salt.
Bitter (spicy): Chilli, ginger, garlic, onion.
Bitter: Neem, bitter gourd, fenugreek.
Kashaya (astringent): Raw banana, pulses, leafy vegetables.

Why is the balance of 6 Rasas important?
He told that according to Ayurveda, balanced consumption of all these juices is very important for a healthy body. Excess or deficiency of any one juice can create imbalance in the body, which increases the risk of diseases.

direct effect on defects
He told that each Rasa has different effect on Vata, Pitta and Kapha doshas. Sweet juice pacifies vata and pitta but can increase phlegm. Katu juice reduces phlegm but can increase vata and pitta. Similarly, all the juices affect the balance of the body in their own way.

Improves digestion and immunity
According to Dr. Manoj Bhagat, when all the 6 juices are present in the right quantity in the diet, the digestive system becomes stronger and the body’s immunity increases. This not only removes the deficiency of vitamins and minerals but also keeps the person healthy for a long time. Ayurveda teaches us that proper and balanced food is more important than medicines. If we take care of 6 juices in our daily diet, then the need of vitamin pills can automatically reduce and the body can remain healthy naturally.
