Local residents.

We have eaten many types of yogurt, sour yogurt, sweet yogurt, but…

The red curd of Nabadwip is famous in the world, but not much is said. Yogurt making process here is really surprising. Kheer curd is made in different districts of Nadia such as Navadwip, Krishnaganj, Krishnanagar etc. The specialty of this curd is that it is very dark compared to other curds.

In the sweet shops of Nabadwip, the milk is boiled and thickened for hours in wooden nets and covered well with chaat sacks. Then this sweet curd is made in different ways. This curd is of two types – dark red type and white type.

The specialty of these two is that this curd is so thick that even if the curd is turned over after curdling, this curd does not fall down. Even the shopkeepers claim that once these two are properly coagulated, if you turn the curd bone upside down, the curd will not fall to the ground.
