Mainak Debnath, Nadia: Shambhu Modak, a chop seller from Majdia, brings sweet lankara chops. The importance of chit chat with tiffin or tea in the evening is undeniable. Different types of chop are mentioned in different districts of West Bengal. Chop is generally more or less all of us love to eat. Although not very beneficial for the body, chop is one of the most tempting foods for foodies.

However, the chop has also evolved with time. Earlier people were only familiar with potato chop, fuluri, beguni, onioni. But slowly, various types of chops are emerging one after another. And from the young generation to the old people flock to eat them too.

Shambhu Modak, a young man from Mazia, came up with a similar new chop. He is selling sweet langar chops. Usually this Chillies Relatively less solder is a lot. These chillies are known in the market as Shimla Mirch or Kashmiri chillies. And with this chili, Shambhu Modak made sweet chili chops. He said that he buys this onion at wholesale rate from Sealdah. After coming home, clean them well and cut the chilies lengthwise into two pieces. Then fill it with potatoes and other spices. Then they are dipped in gram flour and fried in hot oil. And the customers are eager to eat that sweet langar chop.

He said, “Those who like a bit of jhal usually eat lanka. But this sweet lanka can be easily eaten by everyone, big or small. 150 to 200 pieces of sweet lanka chop are sold every day. Many people flock to the shop to see and eat fancy chops. We buy this lanka at the price of 80 to 130 taka per kilo, and then we cut a lanka into two pieces and sell this chop at 5 taka per piece.”

From the evening, it was seen that customers flocked to eat the sweet langar chop. So it can be said that even those who have been afraid of lanka for a long time can easily try this sweet lanka chop.
