Benefits of Wild Brinjal: Wild Brinjal is a medicinal plant which people often destroy considering it a weed, but it has special importance in Ayurveda. According to Ayurveda doctor of Balaghat, it is considered beneficial in problems like cough, phlegm, asthma and diabetes. In tribal areas it is used in the form of steam and decoction. Eating this vegetable strengthens immunity and digestive system. However, it should be consumed in limited quantities and only after consulting an expert.

Three types of wild kiln are found. Some have blue or yellow flowers, while white flowers are seen in the plants found on the river banks. It has small round fruits which have thorns on them. It grows easily even on dry land and is more visible around rivers and streams.

Usually people prepare and eat vegetables from it, but expert advice is necessary. It is of hot nature, hence excessive consumption can cause harm. Should not be eaten more than once a month. Overall, the plant which is often considered useless can prove to be a precious gift of nature.
