It is not yet clear how long Imran Khan will be admitted, as the final decision will depend on the consultation between the prison authorities and his medical team.

Sources also suggest that during a possible hospital stay, Khan may be allowed to meet select key aides as well as his wife Bushra Bibi, who is currently facing legal trouble. Although no official confirmation has been issued regarding such meetings, the possibility suggests that restrictions will be relaxed somewhat, at least for medical reasons.

Besides the eye injection, the government is reportedly planning a comprehensive medical evaluation for the former prime minister. These may include MRI scans, CT scans, X-rays, heart disease evaluations, and comprehensive blood tests. Officials are said to be keen to conduct a full health review to counter ongoing speculation and criticism from Khan’s team, which has repeatedly raised concerns about his medical condition while in custody.

Khan, embroiled in multiple legal cases since his ouster in 2022, remains a central and polarizing figure in Pakistan’s political scene. His party, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), often complains that his health needs are not being adequately met, claims the authorities deny.
