Agra. Mobile addiction is increasing rapidly among small children in Agra, Uttar Pradesh. Initially, children use mobile phones while playing, but gradually this habit turns into addiction. On not getting mobile, children start crying, become irritable and sometimes even skip meals. Doctors say that mobile phones should be given to children only as per need, otherwise this habit can take the form of mental illness.
Small mistake of parents can become a big problem
According to Dr. Dinesh Singh Rathore, senior psychiatrist of Agra, many times parents give mobile phones to their children because they are busy with their work. From here the child starts getting used to the mobile. Constantly using the phone, feeling nervous or restless when the mobile is not available, checking the phone repeatedly, all these are signs of mental addiction. In such cases, patients are counseled and advised to keep themselves busy in other activities.
Even adults will have to maintain restraint in front of children
Dr. Rathore says that even elders should reduce the use of mobile phones in front of small children. Children imitate adults. If parents or family members use the phone continuously, the child will also insist on the same. Videos, sounds and colorful content on mobile attract children, which further increases their interest.
Give time and toys instead of mobile
Experts suggest that if the child has become addicted to mobile then it is important to divert his attention towards other activities. Spend time with children, play with them and encourage them to play with other toys.
Outdoor play will lead to better development
According to Dr. Dinesh Singh Rathore, children should be taken to the park or outside to play, so that they can run around and engage in physical activities. This has a positive effect on their growth and it is possible to prevent mobile addiction. Parents need to be aware from the beginning, so that the mental and physical development of children can take place in a balanced manner.
