US Plane Crash in Storm News: America is currently in the grip of a severe snow storm, which has completely disrupted life. Due to this, about 14000 flights had to be cancelled. However, in the meantime, a major accident occurred where flights were operating at Bangor International Airport in Maine state. In fact, a private business jet crashed here during takeoff, in which 7 people died, while one crew member is said to be seriously injured.

According to the US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), this Bombardier Challenger 600 series private jet got hit by a snow storm and bad weather while taking off. There were a total of 8 people on board the plane, out of which 7 died. It is being told that immediately after the accident the plane overturned and a massive fire broke out. The accident happened around 8.45 pm on Sunday evening local time.

The plane was destroyed within minutes

According to the recording of air traffic control, about 45 seconds after getting permission for takeoff, a voice came from the control tower – ‘The plane is lying upside down’. Immediately after this, emergency was imposed at the airport and the relief team also reached the spot within a minute. However, by then the plane was burning. Bangor International Airport was immediately closed after the accident. According to the airport administration, it will remain closed till Wednesday afternoon.

How did the plane overturn?

The FAA and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating the accident. The NTSB has said that according to preliminary information the plane crashed and caught fire shortly after takeoff, but a detailed statement has not yet been released. This accident has happened at a time when a large part of America is struggling with a historic winter storm.

Why is there a snowy disaster in America?

From New England to the Rocky Mountains, heavy snowfall, freezing rain and strong winds have worsened the situation. About 19 crore people in about 37 states have been affected and emergency has had to be declared in more than 20 states. Air services have been badly affected due to the storm. According to flight tracker, about 12 thousand flights were canceled across America on Sunday and about 20 thousand flights were delayed. Big airports like Philadelphia, Washington, New York, New Jersey, North Carolina and Baltimore were most affected. The electricity system has also broken down due to heavy snow and accumulation.
