Raw and ripe Bael: In summer, stomach related problems like constipation, diarrhea, abdominal heat and swelling become common. In Ayurveda, Bel (Bilva) fruit is considered very beneficial for these problems. According to Ayurvedic physician Dr. Harsh, Bael is one such fruit. Which can be used both raw and cooked. Raw wood apple helps in constipation and clearing the stomach, while ripe wood apple provides relief from frequent loose motions and diarrhea. It cools the body and balances the increased pitta. Consumption of wood apple is also considered helpful in reducing inflammation, improving digestion and keeping the lipid profile balanced. Making chutney from wood apple and taking one spoon each in the morning and evening strengthens the digestive system and prevents toxins from accumulating in the body.
