Rinku Singh is the new hope for India in T20 international cricket. In no time he has established himself as a reliable match finisher. His ability to play big shots calmly in moments of pressure is what sets him apart. In recent matches, he has had effective and devastating innings with the bat, which has played a major role in India’s victories.
Rinku Singh once again proved his finishing prowess in the first T20 between India and New Zealand in Nagpur. In the last over of the innings, Rinku hit two fours and two sixes to score 21 alone, which turned the match.
Rinku Singh also set a special record with this innings. He is joint second with MS Dhoni in the list of batsmen who hit the most number of sixes in the 20th over for India in T20 international cricket. Rinku now has a total of 12 sixes in the last over. He has surpassed captain Suryakumar Yadav in this respect, who has 11 sixes. Hardik Pandya tops this list with 15 sixes to his name.
Regarding his innings, Rinku Singh said that he was under pressure as he did not get regular opportunities in the team. But the plan was to patiently take singles and play big shots when given the chance. In the end, he considered staying on the wicket the most important thing. He successfully implemented that plan in the field.
