But New Zealand proved in the first half of the match at Eden Gardens that the Kiwis will not give up an inch in their bid to reach the final without a fight. The powerful Proteas batting attack was given a big blow by the Black Caps bowling attack. Dewald Brevis 34 in the middle, Marko Jansen at the end, Tristan Stubbs 29 runs if the innings did not play, the pressure would have increased for the Proteas. In the end, South Africa scored 168 runs after losing 8 wickets in 20 overs.
