SM-39 Razor Fighter Jet: Stuvati Aerospace, a small company based in Niagara Falls, has presented the design of SM-39 Razor Fighter Jet which looks like ‘Batwing’. Military technology enthusiasts around the world were surprised when a small company from Niagara Falls made a big claim. Only 25 employees work in this company named Stavati Aerospace. He has presented the design of a fighter jet which looks exactly like Batman’s ‘Batplane’. This jet has been named SM-39 Razor.

The company claims that this aircraft can fly Mach 4 i.e. four times faster than the speed of sound. This project is in the race to become part of the US Navy’s F/A-XX competition. The world’s largest defense companies like Boeing and Northrop Grumman are already involved in this race.

The features of SM-39 Razor seem like a story from a science fiction movie. According to the company, twin E1400 afterburning turbofan engines will be used in it. This jet is 70 feet long and has a triple fuselage batwing design. It is claimed that it can reach a height of 1 lakh feet and its range will be up to 1,400 nautical miles.

The biggest thing is that despite this speed, it is claimed to have stealth features. If this becomes a reality, it will leave behind even the world’s fastest plane, SR-71 Blackbird. It will complete the journey from New York to Miami in just a few minutes.

Aerospace experts and engineers are expressing a lot of doubt about these claims of Stavati. The biggest question is about thermal physics. When an aircraft reaches hypersonic speed, four times faster than the speed of sound, the friction of the air produces so much heat that metal can melt. It is almost impossible for the stealth coating to withstand this much heat.

Turbofan engines are generally not made for such high speeds. This requires a scramjet or rocket engine. The track record of Stavati Aerospace has also not been very good. In the last 30 years, he has presented many concepts but has not made a single real prototype.

Even though the design of the Staviati has caught everyone’s attention, the US Navy is moving cautiously. In the budget for the year 2026, a fund of about $ 897 million has been kept for the F/A-XX program. The Navy wants the old F/A-18 Super Hornet to be replaced soon in view of the growing power of countries like China and Iran. In this race, Boeing and Northrop Grumman seem to be at the forefront because they have decades of experience.

An ‘underdog’ design like the SM-39 Razor may look cool, but the laws of physics cannot be ignored on the battlefield. At present this jet is running fastest only on paper and in people’s imagination.
